My late cousin used to do animal rescue work in San Diego had one she raised for a pet. It had an noticeable oder, the hair was like wire, and it slept all day and was up most of the night. The only interesting thing it would do is wrap it's tail around your arm and let you carry it while hanging. It was friendlier than her snakes, but not much. Since it was tame it tolerated people.
