I could take off during the week, but usually would lose too much business. Many here are self employed, and in our 30's and 40's so we have a little bit more disposable income.

Personally, beach diving is against my religion. I am with you, we get so much value, comraderia, captain/crew expertise and convenience, not to mention way better diving for a measley $100

Oh, and diving costs shouldn't derail real estate purchases, real estate prices should derail those plans!

I bought a home almost 4 years ago only because they came up with these 0% down home loans....now if I tried to buy the same place, my mortage payment would be over $6k a month, which is insane.

The Whalers Dive Club meets in Van Nuys, which is next door to you.
