I finally found a place that will make the kind of wetsuit I've been looking for. It's a place in Long Beach called M&B wetsuits. They will make an old skool beavertail style w/ attached hood, kevlar on the knees and elbows and it will be made out of 7/16" (10.5 mm) Rubatex G-231. I got all the info from a urchin diver buddy of mine. He had one made 14 years ago and made over a million dollars getting urchins with that suit and it's still in decent shape!
With this suit I can get rid of my dry suit and continue my quest for simplification and minimalism.
