I think split fins suck personally. I was out ab diving at South Fisk Mill one day with a buddy of mine who was wearing them. He got down to about 30 feet and almost didn't have enough power to make it back up. We aborted the diving because he deemed them unfit for freediving.
I tried both the Apollos and the twin jets and had to get semi rescued by my buddy Larry trying to get back into shore against a wicked current again at Fisk Mill.
Last Sunday I took a newbie out to ab dive for the first time and had splits. He was kicking 5 times to my one time against my freediving fins and he was having a hell of a time. He will be upgrading before his next ab dive.

I use regular Jets or Turtles for scuba and sometimes my long fins. Twins just dont have the brute horsepower when you need it most.
