When my buddy got bent it was on a 65 foot dive at Casino Park. It was our first dive and he did everything right. He violated no rules. He did a slow ascent He had no pre-existing medical condition and was a fit 23 year old. He did the same dive profile as I did. He got smacked and I didn't. What did his doctors and DAN tell him after his 2 table 6A treatments? Don't be so aggressive in his future diving, limit his dives to 60 ft or less and increase his surface interval time 30% more than what the tables suggest. When Elaine got bent what did the doctors and DAN tell her about her future diving? Perhaps she can tell us.

This leads to another point that can be made here Walt. As Elaine says she has been bent before, and undeservedly I think. When Elaine got bent what did the doctors and DAN tell her about her future diving? Perhaps she can tell us. Regardless of what they said, would it not be prudent for her to find a way to do the diving she wants to do with expanded training and understanding? At her admitted age, performing her more advanced dives with the right stuff in her tank and a less convoluted gear setup would give her the added edge. This edge will off set to a point, the predisposition of an undeserved hit plus the ability to handle serious task loading when something goes wrong. She carries a lot of camera equipment when she dives from what I have read. It would be a shame to lose anyone who was narcd while trying to retrieve an un-retrievable dropped camera. I hope to never see Elaine as a statistic MHK would use later to prove a point.
