I remember when this attitude was rampant in the 50's, 60's and 70's. I thought it had disappeared from the diving sport. Instead it just moved to the more technical aspect of the sport. Which is obvious from some of the posts seen here.

I often work with commercial divers. In all my years I have never seen a lady commercial diver. No doubt there are some, but they have to be very rare. Women have moved into many male dominated position. Off the top of my head - mechanics, heavy equipment operators, construction, race car drivers, etc. Personally I have no problem with women working in any field.

Although I would be interested to know the percentages of female recreation divers, female tech divers, and female commercial divers. I know of several female boat captains in the fishing fleet. It appears that some have problems with female captains. What does it matter. As long as they get you to the best diving or fishing safely.
