Do diving deaths go unreported due to tourism concerns?....

After witnessing a diver death at La Jolla Shores this past Saturday that was reported as a save, I started to wonder just how many of these deaths go unreported in the local media. I remember MJK reporting several years ago that there were approx. 12 deaths a year for several years running in our So Cal waters. Was that an accurate representation? It's Tuesday evening and the death I witnessed Saturday is still listed in the local SD media as a save....
