Simple,

That reel is designed with a "squeaze grip" inside the handle.
If you let off of the grip the reel locks in place.

Say you're shooting a bag. With gloves on your hands if you relax your grip a little too much the reel locks.

Your hand gets "stuck" in the handle and you're dragged to the surface. That's just the start of the design flaws...

But, hey it's a great reel for Dinosaurs. Thing is we all know what happend to those...
