I can vouch for this - I used to dive with a blond, female buddy - nice enough, and competent in the water, but a real air-head. She couldn't trim out until she added 7.5 pounds in a lead mask-strap

After that adjustment, no problem.

I believe the lead mask-straps are made by the same company that makes the S.S. spring fin-straps. Some folks may think that the lead mask-strap is just a gimmick but it is just proper trim derived from proper training.
