Over the last few weeks I’ve received numerous emails and phone calls from friends and acquaintances (none of which I responded to) , asking why I seemed to have fallen off the planet; was I on a dive project, in the hospital, the drunk tank, jail? Had I moved North to study the nuances of Monterey diving under the tutelage of guru Tribolet, sequestered myself with Elaine, the mistress of emulsion to learn the subtleties of color saturation of ASA 25 Kodachrome UW or perhaps headed South to take up the life of a subsistence Waterman in Central American climes?

It was none of those, unfortunately.

Since a good number of the inquiries came from folks on this board, I’m taking the lazy way out and responding here. For the last two weeks I’ve maintained a self-imposed isolation while studying and preparing for my Coast Guard license exam for Master, 100-ton vessels.

The test has been taken and passed.

My comm. lines are once again open.

My “opening day” of bug season will be this weekend – just intime to prevent “dry gill” disease.

Thanks to ya’ll who actually took the time to ask about me.
