I made my first underwater swim to the platform's new location this morning. It only took fifteen minutes each way, so that gave me plenty of time to look around. I found several dozen species of nudibranchs, fish and two Mantis shrimp. I also found a large tow rope inshore from the platform. Maybe someone tried to steal it. :)
I followed the line back to the beach and then switched tanks for a dive at the Point. After an hour and a half surface interval the visibility nearly doubled. I had 15-20 feet on the first dive and a good thirty feet on the second. We found one of the largest octopus I've seen, the usual assortment of nudis, fish and worms plus an empty game gag. Sean learned that a used drysuit can be a lot like a used car. He decided not to buy it after his test drive. Something about being soaked and having to wear too much lead...
Just in time for Halloween, a Mantis shrimp wore a space alien mask between his eyes.
