The real questions here is, do we want to see our economy gird to a halt? This country runs on oil, to not use our own resources is not very smart. We need the oil (both off our coast and in Alaska). We are fighting a war in the middle east, right now, because of oil. If there has to be a sacrifice I would rather have a possible oil spill than more dead Marines.
