(AP) -- The search near Cape Mendocino for an underwater photographer who has been missing since Saturday has been suspended, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. Kawika Chetron, 35, of San Francisco, launched a 17-foot boat from the Eureka Public Marina on Saturday morning, said Lt. Stephen Baxter, spokesman for the U.S. Coast Guard Group, Humboldt Bay. Rescue vessels and aircraft conducted a 1,500-square-nautical-mile search. Chetron's boat, a Boston Whaler named Rapture, was found Sunday just west of Cape Mendocino, but there was no sign of Chetron, Baxter said. An experienced diver and accomplished underwater photographer, Chetron was said to be heading to Blunts Reef, just west of Cape Mendocino, and had been expected to return that evening.
