I thought I was clear in saying that I didn't disagree with your underlying point, but if not let me be clear, I agree that if you set a rule, ie; dive within computer limits, then you should stay within them irrespective of whether they are convienent or not. I was using your computer example as my jumping off point to suggest that divers should re-examine their "limits" and their reliance on devices that can fail. I wasn't trying to be argumentative inasmuch as I was looking at the bigger picture wherein divers tend to stop the learning in favor of devices that are sold to eliminate the need for divers to think.
