Otter and I dove Lobos quite a few years back - definitly worth 2 tanks, though the surface interval was chilly in our wetsuits. Thankfully the sun was out and no breeze. Every creature we saw there seemed extra large. This rates as teh easiest beach entry in the world - its a protected boat launch ramp. We didn't have any problem with the reservation, but made it early.

We then went to Monterrey and the next day dove the exact pipeline that Eric described. I remember that the metridian field is a bit to the left after the pipe line ends in about 50 FSW. We stayed at the Quality Inn (believe its now another name) near the park and about 1 block from the dive shop off Cannery Row there - easy walk - we geared up in our room. The folks at the shop were very helpful in telling us where to find the pipe and the metridians. We got our fills at the shop - they had a good assortment of rental gear, though we brought our own. Recommend this dive highly - we did it twice it was so spectacular (we also had about 50 foot vis that October day.

Water temp at both sites was 49 F; we dove in our 7 mm wetsuits - the swim outs kept us warm.
