Newport Beach Police have arrested a suspect who was the web master/designer for the Catalina Conservancy. When you went on-line and purchased your ticket for the Annual Catalina Clean-Up or made a donation to the Conservancy, and when you hit the "send" button, a copy of your personal ID information went to the Conservancy and a copy went to the suspects home computer in Newport Beach. He got about 800+ credit card numbers and names and purchased alot of stuff using other folks credit card numbers. He was caught by accident, which meant he would have continued his crimes. If you are 1 of the 800 vicitims like I am, call the Newport Beach Police and talk to Detective Watts at (949) 644-3799. I have not heard a peep from the Conservancy, and I would like an apology or some other sort of action taken by them (being proactive on security) and I think this needs to be printed in the California Diving Newspaper.
