Phil, desiccants work well but you still need to slowly acclimate your housing to the cooler water, particularly on a warm day. I try to keep my camera of the sun and have even used an ice cooler with a little water in it. Where desiccants don't help is inside a dual element lenses. I've ruined a lens this way, costing me $500.00 because I got in a hurry. This has been a particular problem in tropical climates to because you introduce much more moisture when opening things up.
