every 2-3 years fix for me. However, the regs are the first thing
into the rinse tank and the last out. Maybe that's the diff.

I'm also surprised it lasted that many years.

It's easier to replace the spool than to replace just the O-rings.
And the spool is a small part under a good deal of stress.
