Copepod on Epiactis prolifera (Brooding anemone) |
Posted by Chris on September 24, 2010 at 10:14:48: In Reply to: Epiactis prolifera (Brooding anemone) on Macrocystis pyrifera (Giant Kelp) from San Miguel posted by Chris on September 24, 2010 at 10:07:48: Notice the copepod living near the base of the top tentacle on the Epiactis prolifera (Brooding anemone). The more I look at anemones I find copepods living on them. It seems that on some species the copepod lives by eating the anemone's slime.
