Brad - you mentioned that every washed up squid had a jig ripped out of it body from the night before. Please cite a referance. I've never heard this before. I'm curious.

Not that I care at all for the future top predator of the eastern Pacific (my opinion). Ever time a humboldt pulled off of my jig, I saw his friends eat him. As can be seen in one of my older videos http://diver.net/waltermarti/Squid1.htm

As for the Bass, in checking a random check of: http://www.sportfishingreport.com/

2011 Long Beach Sport Fishing Landing 8,730 Barred 6,450 Kelp Bass
2011 Davey Locker Landing 6,075 Barred 11,229 Kelp Bass
2011 Dana Point Wharf 12,134 Barred 32,687 Kelp Bass

That's a lot of fish and there are many more Landings/Wharfs/Piers. This doesn't include private boats. Which the lobster cards are showing, are having a significant impact on the lobster stock. Or, you could look at the above and think, I should fish for bass out of Dana Point more often.

I'm not making any judgements. I believe in not hating the player, but I can hate the game.
