I used to find commercial traps placed at about 150fsw, 2 or 3 all strung together by rope spaced about 50 to 70 ft apart with line the only floats up about 15 to 20ft off the bottom, no visible float line, and was told by an "Old Salt" the poacher then comes along at night and drags his anchor between the traps to snag and pull them up. I have seen as many as 20 bugs per trap. All of this on the Front Side of Catalina!!!
