Fred bought the land on Saint George Key it was a mangrove thicket under about a foot of water. He hired a dredge to clear and fill the area. He built the main lodge on the filled land. Local people did the construction with local hard woods. Fred designed it though. I helped with the mechanical installations because that is my forte. It was a unique experience because it was constructed from scratch in a remote area. When we weren't working we would go diving. It was essentially untouched. An experience I won't forget.
