yeah, they studied a ramp. I think they said they spent $10 or $20 k on the study... the city council is spending $500k on a study to turn the whole area into a mall ("CenterCal project") and figure out how many floors the parking garage should be, where the Chilis should go, where the outback steakhouse should go.... anyway, the study came back with Joe crab shack as the spot, people didn't like that (it's sandwiched between the kids in seaside lagoon and the weddings in the pavilion at the portofino), they missed a window for state funding on it, so it's pushed out to 2016 at the earliest, probably, and in further study. Hurray.

It was mentioned last night, but the harbor commission doesn't seem to post minutes anymore.

I believe this is the actual most recent study, not the one that's part of centercal that the council is doing, but the smaller one the harbor commission did:

the area is confusing, there are two things going on. CenterCal is the city redeveloping the harbor area they own, including the flat parking lot. Measure B and the Harbor Village plan is the AES plant rezoning their area for dense housing after the plant comes down. They are not coordinated or linked. Not to get political, but B is too dense and gives AES control the city and planning commission should have.
