Neat photos. Thanks for sharing, Merry. I too have noticed a green haze in about 25-40' of depth.

As you may recall, the winter of 2004-5 brought record rainfall and I remember that the following summer, we had long periods of flat, calm water and warm weather. I believe the river runoff added nutrients to the water and the combination of nutrients, calm water and warm weather brought about huge red tides. While we have yet to see large red tides this year, I'm willing to believe the run off from above average rains/snow last winter has contributed to the green haze, bio fouling or the abundance of creatures you’re seeing in your microscope.
