I haven't been on this board for a while and just saw this notice.

Tom was a good friend and a great instructor. The divers he trained were among the safest and most competent. He loved diving and took a genuine interest in helping new divers learn to safely dive.

I'll never forget the pool sessions at the Glendale Y followed by our group lunches and the usual morning breakfast at McDonalds with his class on the way to Redondo Beach for training. Tom would sometimes have the demeanor of a charging bull elephant seal, but he always had a heart of gold and a quick smile. So sad that heart gave out. Rest in Peace, friend!
