You can always bring your own tanks with you, and on an expedition that is what you would normally do anyway.
Sure you can dive air to any depth that you want, but in this modern day and age, diving air deeper than 65 ft simply does not make any sense.
Most of the North Coast sites are less than 50 ft anyway. And air is fine then for all your dives there. With one hour surface intervals, and a single 80 cu ft tank, you do not need a dive computer for any of these sites. You can dive as many dives as you want.
Its only when you go to Carmel that deep diving becomes an issue. And there you become introduced to the best mix issue. And deeper than 65 ft, air is definitely not a best mix.
