My u/w f*lm experience was with an Aquashot PHS camera (Push Here, Stupid), so I don't have anything to compare to. My DS-125s are pretty powerful and I dial down a lot. I think the bigger factor is the limit on f-stops with digital - my Oly 5050 only goes to f8.
