What's the best way to economically dive Catalina? It seems my options are to join one of the bigger boats (Great Escape, Encore, etc) at a cost of about $100/day for 3 dives. Alternatively, I can go on a small six pack boat (e.g. Psalty ) for $150. Finally, I can take the ferry over ($35) and either shoredive/kayak dive (free) or hop on a boat out of catalina (scubaluv = $100).
My question is once I arrive on Catalina from the ferry, how easy is it to get to some of better dive spots on Catalina? I figure I'd be dragging 2 tanks, a kayak and my dive gear. Not something very easy without a car!
I'd like to get as many dives in as possible during the day. Thanks!
