I also carry spare o-rings, but not disks. If one goes, I will have to re-air anyway so I would be abe to get one at the shop. On commercial boats, I know that I could bum one from a neighbor or bum a tank for the rest of the trip. I give the o-rings away as do most folks who carry them. Buy me a diet coke on the way home and we are more than even. But I really believe that when you walk into a dive shop and hand them your tank and say "fix this" you shoudl expect to pay for the service, and minumus shoyudl be expected. And no, I do not think $5 is out of line. If they had given me the o-ring and then proceeded to clean the groove and install the new one for me, I would have given the kid the $4 as a tip.
