Spent the afternoon yesterday at the Long Beach Aquarium and was quite impressed. I've been to the aquaria (aquariums?) in Boston, Baltimore, and Monterey. The LB one is intimate, concentrates on a couple areas, & has very well meaning staff. Good exhibit on the Sea of Cortez and a really nice one on Palau. Leaf seahorses were my personal favorites.
I vaguely remember someone on the board being a volunteer diver for the LB Aquarium? I'd appreciate any info on the Aquaruim's expectations and your impressions of the volunteer situation there. I picked up their forms and sounds almost too good to be true: diving AND helping out a worthy cause. Might email me, rather than
using board bandwidth.
Also what's necessary for AAUS Scientific Diver Certification. Lotsa hits on the Web, but none of much use.
