Trim and streamlinning go hand and hand...

Proper trim and streamlinning both help reduce drag, so you should be striving for both...

The other scholl of thought is that by extending your arms you break the slipstream.. I think that is of lesser importance but bears mentioning..

While there are many that use DPV's there are just as many that don't and every DIR diver that I have seen has there arms extended in front..

As I noted earlier I always use a HID light so it's automatic for me with or without a DPV, but even if for some reason I found myself absent a HID, I would still extend the arms...
