And you suck air out of one and when it's empty switch to second? Or do you balance usage by switching regs you breathe from, say every 5 minutes? Or maybe you have 4 regs, two per tank?

If it's one reg per tank don't you think it's not really two regs you and your buddy can breathe through the whole dive? Unless you balance usage which seems to me to be a messy solution. I assume you don't have 4 regs, as that would be actually more expensive than a manifold.

I just don't get what you gain here, compared to manifold.
