I saw a smaller one on the backside of Catalina a few years back and a couple in the Monterey/Pacific Grove area. I spent the rest of the dive looking back and made my quickest transition from water to boat after those sightings (looking down the whole time) even though I had NOT been threatened just observed by the creatures.
