MHK, this may be redundant, but you superise me. With all the "SAFTEY FIRST" DIR puts out, learning to breath under water, and doing controled descents/assents using a down line on the first couple of dives, should be a must! I tend to get the impression that most DIR divers forget what they went through in their first couple of dives, and expect everyone to be profecient divers the first time they see a tank and reg. For safety sake, give ppl a chance to learn.
