I am sorry, but I have to disagree with you on this one. What is the difference between Padi giving out day tatoos, or Mike Nelson.
He lead an intire generation to discover diving, while in fact he was a fake. I see no harm in trying to get new, young people
into diving. It is much better than Joe Camel.
Age is not the driving force, maturity is. If the diver is not ready to dive, don't dive. If they are, then by all means please do so.
This should not be a battle of agencies of who certifies whom. It should be certification by merit. Perhaps that is what was intended
in this thread.
