Among the agencies providing OW certs, there are only minor differences in the official standards. It's imnportant for someone who's looking into training to see that for themselves and not just listen to opinions that are too often fueled more by emotion than by fact. That's why I posted the links.
Of course this does not at all address whether or not standards are too low or whether any agency is driving all to meet the lowest common denominator in a competition for students. I can honestly say that the instructors I work with exceed the minimum standards. They teach because they enjoy doing so, not as a primary source of income.
