First of all, I took the DIR Fundamentals course and at no time was my masked *ever* ripped off my face.
I also was not exposd to the breathing off the BC inflator. I can't speak for the advanced courses though.
I enjoyed the course very much and have no problem recommending it to those interested. Although I don't necessarily
consider myself a full fledged DIR Diver, I can see the value in some of their ideology. It's offensive for you to
categorize everyone who dives this way has mindless puppets. There are ignorant, obnoxious divers everywhere and I'm
certain it's not limited to DIR.

As for the value of skills training, I thought the idea was to put the diver under stress while at depth in order to
make them more able to deal with unexpected situations and manage problems underwater more effectively. I would have to
imagine that the same applies to the DIR drills taught throughout their training. Comments?
