The US Coast Guard Captain of the Port has issued a requirement that all passenger vessels, sport fishing and dive boats, leaving LA/Long Beach must now do the following:
1) All passengers must present a picture ID before boarding.
2) All baggage, coolers, and containers must be physically inspected before being placed on the vessel.
These inspections are to be carried out by the landing of crew of the vessel.
I call the local Coast Guard office and spoke with Lt. Andy Augilar and verified that this is in fact the case.
