I might have to look at them both at the same time, but
it seems that the SS backplate sort of sits with two
rails going down the back, with the tank on the platform
between them. The scubapro backplate sits flat into the
space between the shoulder blades, though it is a bit
thicker. Really, I'd have to see the two together to
give a precise description of the differences, but I
think the ScubaPro holds the tank closer, because it is
not really meant to carry doubles. The SS backplate sets
taller to allow doubles. N'est pas?
A more interesting side by side comparisson might be how
the scubapro sits in a pocket of the back and the SS
baclkplate is on those rails. There should be noticable
differences, but it might well come down to personal
preference at that point..... Gads, even when I talk about
gear, my eyes glaze. Still, (aside from the bladder issue)
it might be sorta pertinent.
