After a rescue class we decided to burn up the rest of our air on the finger reefs between Corona del Mar Big Beach and Little Corona. Best vis I've ever seen there, must have had 25~35'. On the reefs I noticed what looked like black clam siphons about 1~2" in dia protruding from the reef. A better description would be that they looked like black tulip flowers with very thin white lines zig-zagging all over them. They also retracted quite quickly when disturbed, but they didn't look like any kinda of tube or feather duster worm. I've never noticed them before, but Saturday I notcied quite large patches of them. Anyone know what they are?
