A skin in suit is a wetsuit without the nylon covering on the inside. It's the way wet suits all used to be. The nylon makes it easier to put the suit on, but reduces the effectiveness of the wetsuit to perform its primary function; keeping you warm. The other term for a semi-dry is semi-wet. They're generally not as form fitting and cost more.
