A good beach diver will exit fins-off walking without a single grain of sand on his/her person nor on their gear.

The round plastic "scum balls" attached to a bolt snap are the best way to keep beach sand out of your 2nd stages.

A yellow one for your octo, a black one for your primary, and a blue one for your pony bottle reg works well. That way if you do have to crawl out fins-on, then your regs wont drag in the sand.

Using a bolt snap to secure your SPG or console to your B/C keeps that from dragging in the sand as well.

You can spot experienced beach divers by noticing there is no sand on them anywhere, except on the soles of their boots.
