Excellent advise. Reminds me of my first dive ever in my OW class, The waves where quite large with the small sets in the 3 to 4 ft. range and larger sets of 5 to 6 ft. I was probably one of the most comfortable in this scenerio even though I considered many of the other students better swimmers than me. The difference being I had spent many days at the beach body surfing and playing with the waves, where others had not.
I realize its different with all the scuba gear on, but never the less the techinques on timing, how to lean, dive under, etc. are the same and will build confidence.
