Catalina Diving aboard the Cee-Ray

We dove Catalina (Bird Rock) on Sunday with 40+ foot vis, 68 degree water, very little current. Great day to dive! Does anyone know what the tiny little white specs all over the kelp leaves are? The kelp was infested with them.
