"Why not get rid of all failure points, that just about limits you to a wetsuit and then again the zipper could bust."
The zipper in a wetsuit isn't a failure point because it won't change your buoyancy even if you unzip it to let some nice cool water in when you get overheated.
"Oh this is just swell get rid of necessary life support equipment to decrease failure points."
A BC is only necessary life support equipment if you let it be. Example: Where 104's, plates, heavy lights reels, stages etc. and being 40-50 pounds negative then sure it's critical. But wear less heavy equipment, weight yourself for neutral buoyancy at 20' at the end of the dive, pike dive down and it is no longer critical and some have discovered unnecessary for them. Is that very hard to understand?
