I don't see how ANYONE with even a SMALL BIT of common sense would close down (indefinitely. Most likely your kids will NEVER get to fish there!) portions, while allowing ONGOING MASS COMMERCIAL FISHING to continue.
The currently open areas WILL RECIEVE greater pressure from the commercial / party boat guys, further depleting the stock elsewhere.
Why not set a size limit (window limit. min and max size) AND reduce the daily limit? Why not reduce/eliminate the commercial take (is it not 98% of the total?) and have a REAL impact?
Furthermore.... What the HELL has the DFG been doing all this time? Managing?.... NOPE! I think the more appropriate term is MIS-MANAGING our resources. The fish stocks are where they are BECAUSE OF THIS NEGLIGENT MIS-MANAGEMENT.
