If you are really eager to get the straight poop, you could spend the weekend counting boats that use the pumpouts.

When I had a boat in Dana Point Harbor, the most conveninent pumpout was at the end of the guest docks. This was the only pumpout in the West Basin. I mainly used the harbor on the weekends and many times I had to wait to get to the pump.

Based on the number of times I had to wait, it seemed to me that most people were using the pumpout.

For the record, less than 1/2 a mile away is a sewer treatment plant that continues to operate under a waiver that allows the discharge or "partially treated" sewage. You think this might have some impact on the bacteria counts?
