On Sunday an open water student in a class panicked while doing the underwater mask removal and clearing skill in less that 30 feet of water at the isthmus. In the panic the student shot to the surface quickly. For precaution the Sport Chalet DM had the student put on O2 and he was then taken from the Great Escape to the Chamber. The Chamber checked him out, and then sent him to Avalon Hospital for further evaluation. He checked out OK there as well, but they recommended that he see his personal physician today. He went home on the last boat from Avalon on Sunday Evening.
