For the complete Request for Interest see:

It seems odd that during a budget crisis the DFG would take on a major capital project when the DFG seems unable to complete the most basic of tasks. For example, this year’s labyrinth of rules wasn’t in print until May. How many people without internet access were ticketed for new rules between January and May?

Also, under the new system, we’ll be require to provide a Social Security number. Big Brother is now watching you fish.

One interesting note: the DFG claims it loses money because it doesn’t get money from license sales fast enough. Sport fishing and hunter license sales totaled $70 million and 90% of these sales were done through vendors with daily sales of more than $176,000. It seems a simple matter for the DFG to change it’s collection rules regarding these big vendors. Have them pay daily for estimated sales.
