Yes but if DRIFTING DAN would have stayed on the dock where he belonged the DM would not have been put in a postition to screw up by a diver who should not have been there in the first place.
Not trying excuse the DM, he hopefully is no longer DM'ing. There is no excuse for him but DRIFTING DAN screwed the pooch by getting on the boat for this dive in the first place...
